Is it extracting the data from various system and putting in one platform and then doing the postmortem there?
If this is the thought before starting the BI journey, then better to have excel with power pivot which is very powerful to server this purpose.
If the visualization is to see what you want to see, then don’t use the BI. Most organizations use BI to see what they want to see or to present to Management.
Real power of BI is to able to see the unseen out the data, the data should give the glimpses of future rather than postmortem.
Like in covid -19 pandemic , BI should be used to analyze the data since spread start, understand various patterns on behavior , demographic, gender, age, profession, religious faith, place of living etc and predict the exact route cause of spread in particular area.
No use of seeing the table which country is 1st , what is recovery rate, what is death rate, what is cases/m population etc. BI is not meant for that.
So, if someone is using the BI in such a way than, it is sheer wastage and nothing else.
